Almost all the state affiliates of the Malaysian Hockey Confederation have signed up to participate in the National Indoor Under 16 Championship that will be held in Kuala Lumpur from the 14th till 17th November.

For the boys tournament, all 14 state affiliates will be participating while for the girls tournament, Perlis, are the sole absentee. PDRM and Armed Forces do not have teams for age group tournaments.

Ironically though, the National Under 14 tournament for boys and girls will be held held from 18-27th November thus depriving many of the younger players from playing in both the tournaments.

For the boys Under 14 category, all 14 states are participating with Perlis and Sabah opting out of the girls event.

MHC should have planned its calendar properly and not put states in a fix as there is not much talent to pick from and it looks as if a player is forced to chaoose if talented. Surely this is no way to promote hockey in the country.
